Full Diagnostic hearing test

Hearing and its disorders are intimately intertwined with the anatomy and physiology of the auditory system, which is composed of the ear and its associated neurological pathways.

The Human Ear- The ear is composed of several sections: the outer ear, the middle ear, and the inner ear, as well as the nerves that take sound to the brain (and those that create a feedback loop back from the brain!).

(The Outer Ear) The outer ear—the section bounded by the pinna on the outside and the eardrum (or tympanic membrane) on the inside. (The Middle Ear) The middle ear has three major characteristics that relate to the acoustics of the sound that a person ultimately receives: impedance matching, temporary reduction of high-intensity sounds, and pressure release. (The Inner Ear) The inner ear (or cochlea) is a fluid-filled, snail-shaped structure about the size of a small fingernail. The structure of sound transduction in the inner ear is similar to that of a piano keyboard: low-frequency sounds are transduced on one end while the higher frequency sounds are transduced from the other end.

With the comprehensive hearing test, we check every part (outer, middle, and inner ear) of your ear and find out which part of your ear is affecting your hearing and what can be done about it. If this can be treated medically or surgically, will refer you back to your GP/ENT or if it can’t be treated medically or surgically, we may give you hearing aids on a trial basis to see if you get benefit with any amplification.
